HOW WE MAKE KNIVES
MADE BY HAND. MADE TO LAST.
We heat treat our blades in a laboratory environment to get the most out of each steel, and run cryo treatments on the steels that benefit from it. It's not the fastest way to do things, but it's the right way to get the best performance. All of our handles are handmade using unique materials like Deer Antler, Abalone Shell, Aussie hardwoods and more.
We are a passionate team of 4 knife makers working out of our Anna Bay workshop crafting small limited batches of knives each week. We all love fishing and hunting and are best mates.

Honestly, I still can't get my head around it. When we started Iron Gate out of a tiny shed, we just wanted to build knives we'd be proud to own ourselves. We never expected the messages, the photos of our knives, the reviews. Every single one means the world to us. Watching this thing grow to a whole community of people who back what we do has been the most humbling part of the whole journey. So from me and the team, thank you. Truly. We wouldn't be here without you, and we don't take a second of it for granted.

You Want Sharp??
This is the sharpest knife I own and I have some really good Aussie made knives! For such a small EDC type it cuts through things like it’s made of laser beam (light saber). The deer antler is beautiful and I want more. Perhaps if I get the chance a mammoth tooth and dark wood or deer antler one. As well as a hunter, bush craft and kitchen knife.

Hand made knives have been around thousands of years, and there have always been masters of the craft. Iron Gate has just stepped it up a notch. Combining elegance and beauty, with ruggedness and practicality, this is a knife I’ll be proud to hand down through the generations after I’ve used and abused it a little. It feels nice in the hand, looks incredible on the bench, and cuts like a razor fresh off the strop.
